Money on Insomnia is expressed in pounds, shillings and pence.

Internally, money is counted in pence. For long-form display, every
100 pence becomes a pound, and every 5 remaining pence becomes a
shilling. Anything left over is shown as pence.

Examples:

  137 pence = £1, 7 shillings and 2 pence
   42 pence = 8 shillings and 2 pence
    4 pence = 4 pence

Short-form money is shown with the pound sign, for example £1.37.

Here is an example of giving money to another player:

  give 10 pence to janedoe
  give 2 shillings to janedoe
  give 1 pound to janedoe

Shops will price goods using the same Insomnia money system.
